What started as a few holes in the backyard has turned into a 9-hole par 3 golf course framed by gum trees, paddocks and plenty of horses. Built and shaped by two brothers, McGowan GC is constantly changing, improving and providing plenty of opportunities to lose a golf ball.

The Landscape
McGowan GC is set amongst the natural landscape of the Adelaide Hills, surrounded by rolling paddocks, native gum trees and the horses trained by our mum. Horses have always been a significant part of life on the property, and their presence has become an important part of the character and identity of the course.
The Onkaparinga River also runs alongside the second hole, adding to the unique landscape that surrounds McGowan GC. From the river and native wildlife to the horses in the neighbouring paddocks, the course is shaped by the environment around it as much as it is by the golf itself.
